Few things are as difficult as simply paying attention to your breathing.

Tending the spirit should be a minimum daily requirement.

Human beings can survive for weeks without food, days without water but only moments without air. Breathing is at the very essence of our survival. These small moments add up. The trick is to allow them the room to accumulate. One day may or may not yield an immediate result. BUT stopping to refuel your spirit, by adding fresh oxygen to your blood supply, day by day will bring lasting change.

If you want to find God, hang out in the space between your thoughts.
~ Alan Cohen

Stopping to just BE isn't easy, but it's worth it. There is a reason the wisest among us- Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, Ghandi, Mother Teresa- all MADE the time to sit quietly...there is no way you are more busy than they were! The best gift you can give yourself doesn't cost a nickel, requires no accessories-- only the willingness to sit with yourself.
