If we don't watch what we watch, we are handing our brains over to be programmed.

It is unacceptable to simply accept everything we see on TV, hear on the radio and read...

Media has been a powerful tool for progamming thoughts long before newspapers, magazines and the internet. It has always been in the best interest of those in power to keep folks ignorant and consuming items and ideas without question. We have to take care of ourselves in order to do what's best for each other.

...the digital divide is not so much about
who has access to what technology as about
who knows how to create and express themselves in the new language of the
screen. If students aren't taught the language of sound and images,
shouldn't they be considered as illiterate as if they left college without
being able to read and write?
-George Lucas

It is mandatory that we question the ideas being presented to us. We must be critical of the ideas, images and products that inundate and seduce us everywhere we go- from the train to the toilet SOMEBODY is trying to convince us one way or another. We have to stand strong in exercising how to think in order to shape our own opinions and ideas about what we think.
